The resolution of the path tracked is quite low, when downloading the path shows much more detail.
I have a fairly large GPX file (~8MB), but I think I remember it showingwith more details on the chart.

In Admin > Settings > WP GPX Maps > Advanced Options:
Disable GPX reduction:
Reduce GPX: [x] Do not reduce GPX
