Map not displayed – possible jquery conflict

Hi.

I think I am having jQuery conflict with my theme. The plugin initially worked but suddenly stopped working and now no map data is displayed, only the background.

jQuery is being called several times in this theme and also notice a jquery countdown clock has stopped (it works on other pages in the same theme). I have tried a few suggested methods to stop conflict but would really appreciate some help it getting it fixed. That’s if it is in fact jquery that is causing this?

I am using latest version of plugin  (1.1.37) and WordPress 3.4.2

I checked with firebug –
TypeError: map.mapTypes is undefined (at line 194 in WP-GPX_maps.js)
It works with a different theme (Twenty Eleven) but not Vilisya. Not sure what is conflicting as it worked for one minute but as soon as I added more maps to the page it stopped working.

Are you using other google maps plugins?

My plugin are using google maps v3, but you are also including google maps v2.. and this is what causes the js error..

no other plugin used. I did try another gpx plugin but got the same problem. The theme does use API2 though I think, on the contacts page. I had to embed a api key in the settings. Perhaps there is a way to disable this or upgrade it to api v3?

Well I am almost there… I have found the php file that handles the request (theme-functions.php) and the section of code that I need to change, but think I took too much out and broke the themes formatting. Will carry on trying but at least I know it’s going to work as the maps now display.
